Interventional Pain Medicine & Anesthesiology
A founding partner, Douglas Keene, MD, is board-certified in pain medicine, anesthesiology, and clinical informatics. He works as an interventional pain specialist and anesthesiologist at Boston Advanced Medicine, and he has expertise in chronic pain, cancer pain, and acute pain.
Dr. Keene graduated from Boston University’s six-year program in liberal arts and medicine in 1988, giving him almost three decades of experience treating patients. He completed his medical residency in anesthesiology at Boston University Medical Center and earned a postgraduate fellowship in cardiac anesthesia as well as pain medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He joined the staff at Deaconess-Waltham Hospital in Waltham, Massachusetts, as an anesthesiologist and became a member of Greater Boston Anesthesia Associates, also in Waltham. He provided anesthesia services at Milton Hospital in Milton, Massachusetts, and served as the director of pain services until founding Boston PainCare.
